About Subio

Bhak Subio was born on 26th of Oct. 2004 at 7:32 pm.   (Subio diary)

Maryana and Subio were fine after the delivery. Subio was 4 kg (4 kilogram = 8.818 lb, lbs)and 58 cm (23 inches) at the time of birth.

He was extremely alert. He did not cry nor was closing his eyes just after birth. He was looking at people outside the incubator as if he was analysing them. Looking at them in turn.He was stretching out his arms with open palms. 

Maryana had an operation at Eulji hospital  in Daejeon. She went to the 6th floor operation room through elevator. Jong and his mum were waiting outside of the operating room with a dozen people who were waiting for their family members operation. When the c-section was finished, there was a call and Jong and jong's mum walked to the incubator cart pushed by a male (nurse?). Incubator was transparent and all the people in the waiting area could see Subio, the new born. Jong heard people exclamating nice things. Some of them told that it was strange that the baby was open-eyed. People  were surprised by Subio's  alert and mature look. He was not like  a new born. Jong's mum was quite surprized, too. Subio was  looking  around to see where he was and staring at people, things and the elevator. Subio was special and different from the birth. The commotion around him was strong. A rubber tube  that was the only thing to give him the air was touching his belly when the cart moved. Subio was annoyed by it and frowned once. In Korean, there is a say that goes "An old man is inside". It means that a baby or a child has especially mature thought and atmosphere. Subio was the case. We can see that he had a strong degree of consciousness.

* He does not cry. He stares at things intently most of the time. Hemakes kitten noise and churps a little bit like a bird (20041105)

* He is3months old. He is over 8 kg (17 lbs). He is extremely alert and active. He rarely cries. He can stand and walk with thehelp of adults. (20050129)

* He is fast in development. He started rolling over after 100th day. He started walking around with the walker after 3 months. He started creeping at around 5th month. He does not cry in any situation (even if he was hit by a heavy object by his head).

* He weighed10.5 kg on 13th April.----

He is a serious looking thinker. He is not light. He can be extremely goofy but not tricky but seriously. 

He thinks a lot. His concentration span is amazingly long. Also, he has a very clear intension in doing everything. If his parents do not understand what he wants he keeps trying to do what he wants but he does not get angry or frustrated easily. He is very patient and gentle to other people. He can see his considering other people all the time. When he wants certain things such as trying to handle cars' steering wheels, he knows that it is not for babies (before and around 1 year old), but he wants to do it for himself. He seems to know that his parents would like to take him away as they want to go inside house from the car, what he seems to think is that please hang on just a few minuites and let me play. If we let him do that, he plays and after that he accepts our offer of going away from the steering wheels (we used to have two cars).  -- When Subio was before and around 1 year old -

20061214: Subio is in US with his mum and Jaesu, his baby bruda. He uses computer mouse well to see pictures. He knows to close windows and pop--ups. He is wild. Moving constantly until he falls asleep. He shouts a lot. He likes his brother but used to scare parents by his fast and rough movements around Jaesu. He shouts "Make breakfast, make breakfast" in the morning to go down the stairs when he is hungry. He is a train addict. He loves trains more than anything. He is very sweet and sharp.

20070530: Subio is delightful as all other children that age. His vocabulary is amazing. He is more like a proper human being now. 

20090823: When I look back, Subio is a superbaby. He is so healthy. I do think that there is a hybrid vigor. Subio and Jaesu(his little brother) simply do not get sick. When they catch cold, they become a little bit (slightly noticeably) quiet. That is all. They still wildly jump around. When Subio bumps his head to any hard object, he does not cry at all. At first, I thought there was a problem in his pain sensors. He now cries not because of pain but because of being angry and complaining, shouting "Not fair".

20090907: Subio is in Ohio now. He is staying with his aunt's house in Marietta with Maryana and Jaesu. He came up to Skype video 2 days ago. He typed 'I love yuo" to me (Jong) in Maryana's computer. He asked aunti Carol the spelling of love and he typed them and then read it. He asked me to type and I typed " I love Jaesu, I love Subio, I love Maryana". He read them all and shouted for joy. Subio started using computer when he was over before 2. He can now use computers nearly as much as any adults do. He can read books well. Subio is still a superbaby/boy. He does not get sick. He does not get hurt easily either. He is agile and precise.

When Subio was about to crawl and walk, he used to get up at around 7:30~8:00 in the morning and would investigate the radio clock for a long time (really long time like 30 min. or even longer). After that he would quietly check this and that of the room and go out of the room quietly to check Jong's office, computers, etc etc. One thing noticeable was that he was so conscious that he was almost like an adult in the way he did that (almost scary). He would exploring the house/rooms and come back quietly (crawling, walking later) to get back into under the blanket to get his morning milk from Maryana.
