Instructions

1 Click the "Start" button, and consequently click "Run." Type "gpedit.msc" (minus the quotes), plus press "Enter" to run the Team Policy Editor.

2 Double-click the "Windows Settings" folder under "Computer Configuration" to open it. Browse to the "Reliability Settings," "Accounts Policies" and "Password Policy" folders inside the same manner.

3 Double-click "Maximum Password Age" on the right side of the Group Policy Editor window after clicking "Key Policy." The Maximum Password Era group policy item opens in some new window.

4 Alter the number beneath "Password will expire in:" to "0 days."

5 Click "Ok," nearby the Group Scheme Editor also restart the computer . When the computer restarts, it must no longer enforce any maximum era limit for passwords or demand you to change your password periodically.

If your computer yous on any Windows server domain, the collateral policies regarding the domain will override anything that you transform on your computer. In other words, you cannot disable Windows XP password expiration if your computer is on any network that is implements password expiration with its protection policies.
