Unlocked phones can be used on several networks.

The iPhone was first released in 2007 on the At&T network in the United States. In&T maintains some policy of never unlocking iPhones, even after the end regarding a two-year contract. PwnageTool was developed to "unlock" the iPhone out of With&T's network so it may be used on other GSM-based mobile networks such as T-Mobile and O2.

1 Download the latest PwnageTool software from the Dev-Team blog (see Resources). PwnageTool remains only available for Macintosh OS X PCs. Similar software, similar as Redsn0w, remains available for Windows computers.

3 Open up PwnageTool also pick the iPhone. Select the downloaded iOS package deal and pick out "Yes" to create any jailbroken package deal. Answer the on-screen accordants and get into the computer's director password.

4 Select "No" while asked if the iPhone has ever been Pwned (unlocked) prior to. Plug the iPhone into the computer using an iPod sync cable. If iTunes wide open automatically, near it.
